After my accident back in feb in the impreza , I sold the cerb and since then have gone through a shelby mustang gt and a 911, nothing comes anywhere near the experience of driving the cerb. As it is nearly three in the morning, I thought I would ask if anyone has a nice 4.2 or 4.5 for sale ( no chance of my wife catching me writing this). Otherwise suggestions on a postcard for something with the same noise/fun ratio but with door handles and airbags- I can explain.......

I recently read a roadtest on the new Vauhall VXR8, the one with the 6.7l Chevy engine, the tester finished off by summarising that "It's the sort of car that will appeal to ex TVR owners who need something with 4 doors"

Which 911 did you have? I suggest you get hold of a 996 GT3 mk1... its alot of money but could be near to the Cerb experience in terms of straight line pace/ being an event to drive. smile

Or just stop messing about and buy another Cerb, this time a 4.5 - if you are that safety concious get a better cage installed with better seats and some decent four point harnesses. That lot should set you back alot less than the cost of a cheap 996 C2!

May have a go at a aston martin virage- the big one- 6.3 v8.
the problem with the cerbera in france is that they dont know how to open the door. The majority of accidents here happen with people ending up in the ditch- not in the hedge or crash barrier as in the uk.
This is where the problem occurs- stuck in the ditch no door handle for the average joe to get hold of and also dragging out of the window not possible. gt3 just has not got the sound- cant beat a v8- mmstang had the sound but that was it.

I know where you're coming from, the Virage and a Bentley Turbo R were both on the short list when I became a 'family man', there's something about the 'grace and pace' of these cars that you can't put your finger on, all for the price of a specced up Mondeo!

I think you'll find the Aston a very 'soft' experience, but like the Cerb' quite an exclusive one.

Good luck in whatever you choose.
