Boot space in a TVR
Discussion
Morning all,
I am looking to change cars soon (currently have an Elise), and as much as I love Lotus, I need more room for whisking the missus away for a weekend, or even going two's up to the golf club.
I'm thinking now may be a good time to scratch my TVR itch I've had since I first saw a Cerbera many moons ago.
Not having driven any TVRs yet, I need to narrow my list down based on practicality (yes, I know, it's a sportscar etc etc), so my question is:
Can you get a set or two of golf bats in:
A Cerbera, a Tuscan, a Tamora (or any other TVRs).
I think the Tamora is my favourite at the mo, but I'm open to suggestions from the great and the wise out in PH land.
I've seen this as a promising starting point:

I recently heard from a fellow TVR nut that it is a design requirement to be able to fit at least one set of golf bats in all TVRs.
Not entirely sure if it is true or not.
You would struggle to get a set in a T350 although it could probably be done if you were very careful with the irons and the paintwork! Could check if you are really desperate. Can't comment on other models though

hi i have a griff very deep boot with roof on, no prob at all with golf clubs plus all kit for to people, recently been touring in it with camping gear etc ,also again no probs..servicing costs are also minimal for a car with such good performance..oh plus the sound of a v8 ..many good independents out their now to maintain it for you.and residual values remain good.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! - No chance of getting golf clubs in a Griff, you need one of those Chimp things

Any golfing Tamora people out there?
I assume you'll lose some boot space with the convertible, but it will be better than shoving the golf bats on the passenger seat!
I've seen a Tamora at a Golf Club so the answer is probably yes, I've had a Griff and Chimera and both have large boots. The Tamora has the same type of 'Targa' roof panel which fits in the boot, the 'convertible' bit of the roof does not affect the boot size.I assume you'll lose some boot space with the convertible, but it will be better than shoving the golf bats on the passenger seat!
PS. You can always leave the roof panel at home if its a nice day!!
You can fit a large dog behind the seats in most TVRs. My Bouvier goes in my Chim with no problem and it's bigger than a set of golf clubs. The only problem with clubs in the boot is that you have to remove them first if you want to put the roof in. They go back in without problem.
The advantage of taking your dog on a golf course is that, unusally for me, you return with more golf balls than when you started.
Shouldn't this thread be moved to the Porsche forum?

Out of interest - how do you make it safe for a dog to travel in a Chim? Wouldn't want one in the car, completely unrestrained. The advantage of taking your dog on a golf course is that, unusally for me, you return with more golf balls than when you started.
I know you've not mentioned a Chim on your list but to give you an idea of boot size - it can swallow more monthly grocery shopping than my girlfriends old Hyundai Coupe and still have room to spare. The boot is huge for a car of this type and puts a lot of saloons and hatchbacks to shame.
The Tam is smaller but still a good size.
BTW - that Tam you highlighted in your first post was a bargain!! Have they really come down to that sort of price or was it a one off?
