Gents,

Has anyone retro-fitted the Lambo factory fit Murcielago Sat Nav screen/unit to their cars? - or done a similar conversion?

I thought I could live without Sat-Nav in the Murci, but I need it! (and the Lamborghini branded Grundig system is absolute pants!)

I dont want some Halford'esque flip out 'Rice Burner' screen either. My preference is something that looks factory fitted and neat.

Advice / Pointers / Ideas please ?

Thanks.

A Double Din unit will fit straight in. The new Murci has the Kenwood unit iirc, not sure which model though. Check this link for a few options, although, I'm sure you can google some cheaper prices. When you find the right one at the right price, let me know smile

Steve, there is a few problems with a Double DIN Unit as I have a current flip out system and have already bought the DoubleDIN unit from Alpine for 550 quid which you can then buy the SATNAV unit which moves from car to car with you stealth or summit it's called. Thsi would neatly fit inside the centre compartment cubby box mate or that is where I plan to put it.

Here is my unit..........

http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=iva-w200...

list of options for it is huge.................

http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=iva-w200...

The Alpine has a bluetooth option which is pish so don't get that one yet theres a better addon coming out, but it's got ipod connectors etc, so go for the Alpine mate. the screen also tilts out and is touch screen.

Thing is the stereo facia around the single DIN unit is a complete molded kit including the heating part so you would need to buy the 6k factory carbon pack or do as I'm doing and thats getting a local fitters of interiors to retrim my centre unit in a carbon effect leather right up the middle including cutting the head unit space but I reckon it's not gonna be an easy one to look flush!!. I planon doing the seat centres and side bolsters too in this carbon effect.

Does your car have an Amp or sub setup ?

Here is the carbon dash with the Kenwood.

Won’t the stock plastic facia from the lp640 fit? The centre console is the same. The plastic piece should be a lot cheaper than £6k!!

Stop press…… here is one in carbon for £600! bulk buy anyone? http://www.macarbon.com/store/murcielago-78/

I think Mike Pullen makes Carbon parts as well, so I'll try pop him a call next week, Also I have another contact that was going to get me to test out some carbon fibre door sills, I'll ask him as well. You interested in full interior kit or just the facia for the stereo? Moz? anyone else?

Count me in as well - if we can get a deal? I would also go for the flip-lid/AC Control cover as well??

Only note of caution is that there is a piece of chassis frame that runs behind the dash in this area - will the MAC design - which was originally intended for LHD vehilces fit in a RHD vehicle?

I already have a complete Alpine install (CD Changer, SAT-Nav, and DVD Changer!) - so the double ALpine will replace the (dated looking) Alpine "flip-up" screen, single DIN unit - and integrate into all the components.

Mandeep,

Sounds great - I am sure MACarbo will do a decent deal on three (at least - anyone else?) AC Covers and Double Din radio panels?

Hi guys
We can modify the factory panel and then get it all covered in real carbon - not sure it will be any cheaper than that US piece but it will certainly work!

If Mosi wants to be a guinea pig we can offer some sort of bulk buy of sorts I am sure!

If carbon isn't your thing, we could maybe do a nice burr walnut..... vomit

Cheers

C

AC and D/DIN Panel for me mate too.

I plan on taking my car off the road in October for a month to get all my "work" done to it.

I reckon I'll see if I can get the main carbon centre console plate too then Mandeep.

Think I'm gonna get the Hermera wheels after seeing this pic........

The Sat Nav on the lP640 is in my view worse than useless. You are much better of with a sexten or a stick in the ground and watch the sun.

Thats why I went for the Alpine as it's suppose to better than the lp640 stand stuff.
