I was lucky enough to take part in a Palmer sport driving day earlier this week (the only day it did not rain!) I would be interested to hear from anyone else that has been on the day and who have also driven an Ultima. Are there any cars in the Palmer sports line-up that compare to a 640GTR on track?? It was an awesome day, fantastic weather, great instruction and plenty of adrenaline! Just need to get my finger out and get my GTR finished. I must also say I have a new found respect for all those out there that have or do race.

Closest for 'feel' would be the JP1.. less go in a straight line but outrageous through the corners (slicks ... yummy...) - make my Ult feel 'squidgy'

Thanks BogBeast. I loved the JP1 - the rawness and cornering speeds are what did it for me...fantastic.

some years ago they had an ultima sport as one of the "demo" cars. Few years a go though.

I would say these are the very best car days out in their class.

Agree with BogBeast - although the JP1s have less power than an Ultima they're quite a bit lighter so the power:weight ratio difference isn't that huge. I doubt there's be any contest round the corners though - lighter weight plus huge slicks plus lots of downforce meant mental cornering speeds in the JP1.

Before I drove it I had a couple of hot laps with their Stig-alike which were astounding. Coming into the long left hander I was sitting there thinking "He's going to brake soon ...." followed very soon by "Please brake soon!" at which point he grabbed another gear and kept his right foot in all the way round. Awesome.
