Is it the 3.2 V6 of the 1.8/2.0 Turbo??

A re-map on a NA car will only yield limited results, however a re-map on a forced induction engine will yield much more power & torque.

If a Turbo then any of the following:

AmD, REVO, MTM, MRC, JabbaSport, DMS (many others i'm sure but these are the bigger ones i know of).

Various induction kits on the market & all offer some gain & an enhancement to the whoosh.

Check out www.tt-forum.co.uk as it's a dedicated TT Forum & loadsa info on there.

Re-map will take it to around 265 - 270bhp.

NO, the turbo is not connected to the air filter.

If you're wanting the turbo volume to increase & whoosh then you'll need to replace the OEM Dump Valve. IIRC on a TT they're Bosch & are prone to fail, so buying a Forge valve will alter the sound, btu if you're looking for a hooligan noise then the Supra/Scooby boys would know more about this.

An induction kit is basically replacing the Air Filter (box) & will add a different whooshing to the car's variety of sounds. You need to be careful though as some oiled ones can clog up quickly & cause major problems.

Would recommend the Forge diverter valve instead of the OEM diaphram model which as someone else says can tear easily especially on modded cars.

IMHO I wouldn't add one of those horrible woooshy dump valve things, as it really means when you get back on the throttle you still have to wait while you build boost up.

The Forge unit diverts boost which would have been dumped on closed throttle back into the inlet system to help on / off / on throttle response so will make the car a lot better to drive. Instead of the diaphram it consists of a lovely alloy screw top unit with an alloy piston inside, so much more resiliant.

It's possible to dismantle the whole assembly to clean and lubricate the piston with a high temp grease eg Mobil, and adjustable for spring rate depending on the boost you are running with different coloured springs which are supplied in the kit, although most good re-maps don't call for the kind of high boost pressure to require anything past a yellow spring.

SORRY EDIT FOR BAD SPELLING

Err where does the turbo draw air from then? Every turbo set up I have seen, the turbo has a direct feed to the air box / filter.

A grammatical error. I realised how it read but couldn't be bothered to edit. What i was trying to say was the noise from an aftermarket induction kit & the noise from a diverter/dump valve were not the same (i said connected by accident).

To be honest it is my good ladies car. I Absolutley love it and i am compating it to my boxster. Just want that turbo noise really but not a massive loud woosh, just a nice noise.

So not actually any performance upgrade at all then smile

Neuspeed induction kit or the new Forge hybrid re-circ / blow off DV might be of interest to you.
