depends on budget - are you talking lead type budget or a bit more?

Cam is good, but likely a grand by a specialist by the time they have done it even though not a huge job and the cost about 250 quidwink

285mm front Disc kit.

Can't think of alot more - sleeve the xhaust - will sound alot fasterwink

Cheers for that, I will start with leads dis cap, coil then move on to more upgrades , the previous owner upgraded the brakes with braided hoses and grooved disk and Greenstuff Pads ? I have read about Mark Adams and the Tornado chip is it worth pursuing this as I have read good comments on these,

Neil.

TVR already rechip the ECU so you may not gain alot from an aftermarket chip. A lot of poor running is simply the engines not set up that well- so you fit a new chip at £350 plus some rolling road time, that simply corrects the origional wrong settings (like timing and AFM setting) so you think its the chip done wonders and the myth continues. But of course your wallet will be £350 + lighter so the cars bound to be quicker......

Save your money & buy a 500 engine. Cheapest upgrade probably.

Mark Adams re chipping cost a packet and is not worth it (IMHO) unless cahnging a load of engine internals.

Just drive it and enjoy it and do the exhaust - get used to it for the rest of the summer and then see how you feel after that.

Forgive my newbie ignorance...but youve had the car less than a month and you want to upgrade its performance !!!!...why didnt you buy a 4.5 or 5 ltr 1st off ? Be very careful of upgrading the engine as you will need to upgrade other areas on the car aswell to ensure she will perform correctly..Surely she has enough performance as she is so why not look to just improve her appearance and turn her into a quality original Chimaera..(theres a thought lol) What ever you decide make sure you dont just get into the Magpie syndrome and buy all that shines and sparkles..Happy Driving though ...

You are right, I have a few little niggles to sort and then I can put my mark on yhe Chim, all I want to do is change the leads etc not go for a complete cam chane and all that, I noticed you do repairs do travel to Staffs or is that to far.

I might be popping a long for a few hours. If you have a ride in mine - just be aware that it has had a bit more than a cam swapwink

I am well beyond recommending anyone to do what I have!

I do kind of agree with someones elses comments no point buying a 4.0 if the first thing you do is make it a good bit faster - 4.5 or more senisbly the 500 should be the one to go straight to - better to mod a 500.

Just got my new P&J 3 weeks ago and she's plenty fast for me (at the minute!) but interested about the changing of leads, dis cap etc, I'm just looking to ensure reliability in the way of preventative maintenance so is it worth doing for that reason alone?

I want to do the same as Alraven so any advice / ideas would be grateful,
has anyone ideas how to recalibrate my digi odometer, the battery went flat and the miles went back to zero, I understand there is a battery in the speedo to prevent this but mine must have packed up and I want to put the miles back to the original.

Just kidding - I'd get it to the last service then run without the speedo connected (no I would never do that!)
