You may be surprised to hear that I am considering purchase of a Jag'. Going to have a look/drive tomorrow and keeping fingers crossed its a good'un.
What model you say!

Better come clean I spose, is Lyons first creation and the particular car I'm looking at dates from 1931. It is of course the fabulous Austin 7 Swallow saloon. Only 170 of the saloon were built IIRC and this one looks a real little beaut'.

Speed : nope
Style : bucket loads
Desirabilty : Oh yes.
Economic : very

The only downside is that they are tiny cars and I may have trouble getting into it. biggrin

You cheating toad, it's not a Jaguar, it's a 7hp Austin with a Swallow Sidecar body! (but it looks like it was the first car body designed by Sir William Lyons, the man responsible for nearly all Jaguar designs)

Your absolutly right John, but the Austin Swallow do'es appear in many Jag' books and as you rightly say it was Lyons first proper car design. In no other way can it be a Jag'.

You may have read elsewhere that I have purchased the little beast. A few have wondered if its the Swallow featured on prewarcar, the red/cream job. Nope.
