After several years of dreaming about ownig a Monaro I managed to convince the wife that you only live once, so I DROVE OVER 450 MILES to Motorbodies of Luton to buy an 07 reg Red cv8. The car was previously registered by them and had only 300 miles on the clock. On arrival the car looked stunning, however I made a few checks of the car and disaster struck... on checking the rear foot wells I found them to be soaking wet. The garage said that they would remove the interior and dry it out. I pointed out that it may have been a fault with the plastic sheet behind the door trim, they said that they were unaware of any such fault with Monaros. Needless to say NO SALE...Dam it all....
Any way I called up Greens of Rainham to ask them about the fault, turns out that they were in the dark as well. Are greens really that good, as I believe they have a good reputation with Monaros ?

There's plenty of "Wet Footwell" threads if you look back.... It's a known fault however, un-acknowledged.

I also had this problem - and Greens finally fixed it at the second attempt, so I'm amazed they said they hadn't heard of such an issue. You must have been unlucky in who you spoke to.

It seems to be a problem with the door membrane. Motorbodies had the first go with my car and failed to rectify it. Greens then had a go and that didn't work either. Then they had a second go and cracked it - even in the current Noah-like deluge it's been bone dry in the back. Just as well as it's up for sale at the mo!

I should add that all three 'fixes' were done under warranty at no cost to me, so clearly Vauxhall acknowledge this as a problem also....

We and Vauxhall are aware of the fault, it is just a door card seal fault. No big deal really, it just looks to be a terrible problem when you see a lake of water in your pride and joy which I can understand.

Sorry to hear that 'we' didnt appear to be aware of it. Did you call Rainham or Holborough ?? Holb have all the tech Monaro people now, but Rainham really could have checked with them or referred you to them.

It is definately a known problem. I have had mine done by greens on both doors. We had heavy rain last week and there was water leaking in the drivers side again! It's a great car but it seems to have a lot of minor faults. Greens have been very good so far but I rather not have to take it in. Driving their 1.4 astra courtesy car is no fun.

Why'd I get a Saab then? I'd have loved to take away a VXR8 while my Monaro is being sorted!
