I've been thinking of replacing my dash buttons with something more robust since the boot release set are currently held loosley in place with a bit of gaffer.

As I have an ally dash I figure the best option is going to be buttons that attach directly to the dash itself via some kind of thread/locking nut arrangement. I've been browsing the RS website, but I'm not sure what size the standard button aperture is, and as the Griff is currently up at V8D I can't measure it either. can anyone on here enlighten me, or perhaps point be to a suitable component.

Much appreciated

Matt.

hi..i have recently done mine in carbon fibre.. i have used these from http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/swi.html

they fit the old holes perfectly and you can back light them also.. good price and good quality..they also screw firm so you dont need the plates on the back.

they come plain if you want to keep the unknown button feel.

good luck

Marc,

Are the switches a straight replacement or did you have to wire in the relay that comes with them?

i had to have them wired in , but you get a set of connector blocks. took about ten mins. unscrew old metal mounts and then just put the new ones in the vacant whole, attach wires to back and re attach. simple stuff (im told )

Can anyone enlighten me as to what these push-button related terms actually mean...

'Push to Make'

'SNPO'

'Momentary'

SNPO

should probably be SPNO - single pole normally open
single set of contacts i.e two pins. which arent connected together until the switch is pushed in.

cheers Andy
