Well what can I say, picked up the VXR8 this morning from Picador's in Southampton after leaving it there yesterday for Wortec to wave the magic wand with the electric switchable exhaust, cold air intake and engine re-map, it has transformed the car which was already great but is now the dogs b*%%*cks, a very neat job has been done and the switchable exhaust is just right, power increase is VERY noticable.

A big thank you to both Picador and Wortec for a "propper job" and for getting it back to me as aranged, fantastic service by both of them.

Good to hear your back into 'loud' mode once more Andy. There is a Monaro out there somewhere recording 107db and an owner still having fun frightening the neighbours !!

mines got the power pack and I must admit, the noisy setting is just awesome!!.
The car sounds quiet when cruising around but as soon as you gun it, the noise gets louder and the note changes.

Superb!!

Maverick, as a matter of interest have you ever done a db reading ? I am just wondering what yours reads as the official Wortec numbers show under under 100db ?

hi. Not done a db reading. I do have one so I will try.
Wortec did the readings. I think the loud setting came under 100db.

Andy, you going for the lowering springs and bigger wheels?

Wortec can do a 7.0L LS7 conversion too. Christ!. The list is endless..... eek

Maverick,
Think I want to try one with the lowering springs first, must say I like the way it drives and would not want a harder ride.

Also need to drive one with the supercharger to see if it's worth spending the extra money.

As for the 20" wheels it would be a big no at present, two reasons, tooooooo expensive and the crap quaility finish on the paint, the 19" look great I think but they are a bastard to clean, have done about 750 miles so far and have cleaned them at least four times already.

I just love the car though, I think the drive is sooooooo much better than the Monaro, the seats, the steering, the room inside are just in a different league.

Moans so far are Dirty wheels, no dim dip mirror and no memmory seats.
Did you look at the power figures on the Wortec site ?, looks good and it seems to go very, very well.

If you look at the time I mailed this you will think I am some sort of insomniac but I buggered up my shoulder last evening playing with the kids and can't sleep, I feel totally nacked out, great fun at the time.

The wife says I should grow up.

By the way let me know when you are off to any track days soon, would like to come and have a nose.
