Bonhams Porsche Auction - what do we think?
Discussion
The first few dozen lots will have me scrabbling round the loft to flog off the tat I"ve amassed over the years.
I like the SC RS, having passed one up a few years ago; that was a showcar, this claims to have been used in anger.
I had thought that the Silverstone Racing School 993s were going to come onto the market via another channel/s (and I also though that there were more of them than just 2), but the price is bang on what I was told they would be available for....

From the brochure re Lot 203, one of the ex Silverstone driving school 993s...
"When inspected for the catalogue... [the] clutch and 6 speed gearbox appeared to function correctly. The bodywork appeared to be generally sound, the paintwork and interior fair, and the seat leather good for the mileage."
Which basically means have a darn good look at it

The other classic bit of copy comes from Lot 224, a 1973 Carrera RS replica:
"Prospective purchasers are urged to inspect the history file, which is eloquent testimony to the care and attention to detail lavished on this car..."
Which basically means it's had a few quid spent on it.

Dom, have you seen any of the cars? If so, have a gander at the SCRS - does it look like it's ever seen a bit of mud?"When inspected for the catalogue... I'm always bemused by the random positioning of the extinguisher in some 'competition' cars. Personally I always wanted it on the floor in front of the navigators seat - you can't reach it when it's on the cage and you're strapped in.... I would've thought they might have thought about that?Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

Never been one for the older pork due to rust and other ownership woes but the interior fragrance was pure 'eau de neuf-onze'. Lovely.
