I posted about this in the LCUK forum a month ago...

I'm off on the FB5K Viking Tour around Scandinavia for 9 days later this week so wanted a couple of 'pit stop' jobs done on my car before I set off. I spoke to Peter yesterday at Supercar Sunday and he offered to fit me in this morning.

I had an intermittent misfire on the LH bank (problem started after I'd washed the car a few weeks ago so I may have been over zealous with the jet wash....) which the laptop put down to cylinders 8, 10 and 12. The plugs and coils were extracted and number 8 looked like the main culprit, nevertheless Sam and Dean carefully cleaned all three of them and put them back. Problem fixed - the angry crispness is back. biggrin

I've just fitted new tyres all round and was keen to know how the wheel alignment is before I head off for a few thousand miles of spirited driving. A quick geo check confirmed everything was OK and tyre pressures were set - they confirmed my suspicions that the Diablo is very sensitive to tyre pressures. You only have to be 1 or 2 psi down on one side to cause the car to wander (apparently this also applies to Murcielagos and Gallardos - Gallardo rears especially).

They also sorted out the OSF indicator that had an iffy earth/connection and identified where my mystery fluid leak was coming from (PAS pump).

I was impressed by the service, enthusiasm (you can't beat dealing with people who LOVE working on your car!), knowledge and advice. Recommended!

Today, more of the same. Just picked up the Six Litre, "big-serviced" and with new clutch fitted. Once again, terrific service - booked in at my [short notice] convenience and back, finished within a week.

Things I especially liked:
- enthusiasm of the technicians
- details like cleaning my engine and engine bay while the engine was out - Marcus even re-painted the lettering on the engine's centre cover
- the thoroughness of replacing odd missing fasteners to make the car 100% correct

I shall treasure my annhiliated flywheel/clutch as a souvenir of the Viking Tour (I torched it making figure of 8s... there will be video!)
The flywheel is blue on the INSIDE and the clutch plate is so shiny it could be used as a shaving mirror ideahehe

LW isn't a main dealer but their technicians are factory trained and clearly very experienced - the depth of knowledge is very reassuring.

I'm very fussy about who looks after my cars. I don't doubt I could get a bill for less elsewhere but I doubt I could have the car looked after better, at any price. That's what makes it good value IMHO.
The car's fab - and just my luck today to have to head out of Wycombe for a long blast north on the M40. cloud9

Thanks! smile Can't wait to write up the FB5K odyssey that I did in the Espada - it really was the trip of a lifetime, and it ain't exactly difficult to take a nice photo with a shiny old car in front of some of the scenery I drove through.

O/T I got a great email from another AJ reader yesterday clicky Made my day!

Does main dealer mean involved in sales ? They are a Lamborghini Official Service Centre

Phil,

i totally agree that it's important to have someone you trust looking after your car.

just a shame mine's in Meltham... a couple of hundred miles north of me!
however if you remember the differing experiences myself and cookie had on both runs
it shows you exactly what that means.

I'd love to see that clutch too, i remember you doing it, then nursing the car for the rest of the trip.
although your 'nursing' was still quicker than most mortals pacey driving!

I too am very pleased to have such a top notch Lamborghini Centre less than 20 miles from me. I was up there a couple of weeks ago having some niggles sorted and was perfectly prepared to get the train back to the office that morning....Paul (Graham's bro) would have none of it, and gave me a lift 18 miles to the office (in rush hour traffic). Also last week I needed some touch up paint to touch in a couple of tiny paint chips prior to my paintshield application - one of their Chaps dropped it off at my house later that day! (the postal strike meant it would have been delayed otherwise)

Tbh, having them right on my doorstep has certainly had an influence on me staying with the brand.

If I am ever driving through that area during the day I will always bob in for a nosey, and Graham (Lambo HW MD & DP) is always available for a chat and a brew. You dont get this in other Main Dealers....I have had about 10 Porsches, and not once have I ever got beyond either the receptionist or the spotty oik on the Service desk!.

I'm very excited about this prospect. To be brutally honest being a woman no dealer has ever really taken me serious (bar one very kind irish dealer). Every single other one in ireland didn't take me serious even for a yaris they wouldn't here! However i have had better experiances in the uk but i can't wait to properly meet graham as at supercar sunday everyone faded into one so i didnt get to meet anyone properly! But to me a dealer taking me seriously and treating me like any other customer would mean more then most biggrin

Jenny, Graham is a petrol head first - Dealer DP/MD second. His office is rammed full of racing memorabilia, precision car models, big flatscreen with some sort of motor racing always on it! He loves to chat about Lambo's and is obviously passionate about them. When he isnt at Lambo HW he is out racing cars somewhere around the World with Team Modena - I heard that his wife last saw him about 25 years ago! LOL biggrin

And ALL the lads in the workshop are Lambo mad too. To me it feels like the place is run with some passion for Lambo's - NOT purely a money making venture (which of course it is, but it doesnt feel as sterile and 'Main Dealer' as the others) IMHO of course.
