I think that the one on my Cerb is a Leven one. When the tank is full, no matter how tight I put the cap on, petrol manages to leak out of the top and then run down the back of the car if I get a bit enthusiastic.

I've checked the gasket and it seems fine, maybe putting another one on top of the existing one would cure the problem?

Anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

its venting out the side the leven cap does'nt have a vent like the original one its doing it because of the ambient temp being hotter it will produce a vacum aswell once the tank gets low
you need to drill it and put a small trialie bike vent in any motorcycle shop sells them or failing that just keep letting the pressure out

Do you mean drill the top of the cap? yikes

How does it get past the gasket if the cap is screwed on tight?

Maybe the vent valve is blocked. I had major problems last year with a vacuum/pressure in the tank. Turned out it was the plastic ford rollover valve that was blocked. Replaced it with a mocal one and has been fine ever since.
