What are the weights of the S Type R and XKR Coupe?

Is the S Type R the hottest saloon Jaguar have done?

Do the above 2 cars share the same engine and power ouput?

Thanx.

The XJR is lighter than the S-Type R.

I think all three share the same engine and power output.

they are all the same power output if you're looking at the 2004 models kerbside weights

s-type r is 1800
xkr coupe is 1735
xkr convertible 1815
xjr is 1665

all the 0-60, mpg and CO2 follow that to, go look on jag lovers there are all the old brochures

i'd always assumed that to and they are designed for different purposes, true the new xkr revs higher (6250 vs 6100), and has more bhp (420 at 6250 vs 400 at 6100), but it's max torque is higher and 500 higher up the rev range

the shock is the weight, from the jag website all lastest versions

xjr 1659kg
xkr coupe 1665kg
xkr convertible 1715kg

the xj's are surprisingly light i was told by the dealer that they were the same weight as the x-type and didn't believe him, but the 2.5 v6 auto x-type weighs almsot 60 kilos more then the the 3.0 v6 XJ, i guess it shows the advantage of ali over steel, it's why i was surprised at the weights of the new xk and it's also a shame the s type replacement is going to be steel

So a cheap XJR is a bit of a bargain 'sleeper'!

The X350 XJR as I've been saying on this site for the thick end of two years is the total dogs boocks. It is a fantastic car from every point of view and frankly I am counting the hours, though it may be months or years, till I can get another one. Goes like the wind and handles far better than most people give it credit for. I hope they put the 420 bhp engine in.
