wont start when hot

I have just got my S1 on the road again after loads of trouble with the injection system, now it wont start when hot, is there a tecnique, or whot needs changing now !

I had exactly the same problem, i paid an expert alot of money for the the most stupid resolution.
Your cold ignition system is shot, it will start cold but not warm and you have to leave it 10 mins to start, basically the sensor is telling your engine its cold and its flooding it with petrol!!
There should be a small blue connector on top drivers side of your rocker cover, quite simply- disconnect it!!!, apparently the engine runs fairly rich anyway so its not really needed. engineer said if does not start on a really cold day just reconnect until started- mines always started even when snowing!
I did this 3 years ago and never had a problem since, had it serviced last month, mechanic reconnected it for me and again - same problem.

This should be your answer, cheap and very effective.

Thanks for that, makes sense, but it is not flooding it seems a lack of fuel, I have since found that if I give it full throttle on stating when hot it is better, but still needs a lot of spinning, this car has been loads of problems the injection system has had just about every bit changed, I bought a spare engine for a source of bits, I have herd of people getting so fed up they have considered carbs, do these systems work reliably when sorted or were they just doing there best befor the advant E.F.I.

I used to have to give it full throttle when starting it too, some reason this helps clear excess fuel. have you tried disconnecting it?? if its the problem it will work, you'll have to disconnect it, start it cold then go for a nice drive. when you get back it should start first time.

The way to start a flooded EFI engine is to give it full throttle so sounds like James has identified a possible cause.
