PASSAT 20V T ANTILOCK BRAKES CENSOR

I ahve been a bit of a daft lad 
I was changing the ns cv boot when i came across the antilock brake censor ring on the hub and in the spur of the moment thing i chissled it off thinking i had to so i could get my boot off. When i reilised what i had done i put it back on and tack weilded it back on filling one of the holes with weld. Now when i brake it judders as if the antilock brakes are on and the censor is picking the filled hole up.. Any ideas 
Ive thought about trying do drill the hole out again, Failing that i will need a new one. Ive been told you can buy them separate and then ive been told i need to buy a whole hub, And again ive been told on two occasions that it is about £90 and £200 for a hub. Who do you belive and what do you belive. Where would the best place be to get one. I would rather stay clear of the dealers obviously for the price they would charge, If possible..
