The alarm on my 98 chim is playing up, the siren has started going off ( for a few seconds at a time ) randomly, driving down the road or stationary alarm on or off, it will sound.
It was good driving down a local by-pass every one moved over.

any ideas I checked the siren for water and connecters in front valance all seem okay ?

Sounds like you might be ready to fit some blue neons to complete the effect.

Water ingress into the siren is the usual cause for your problem - is it mounted with the horn up (excuse me, Vicar!)? If so might be worth removing, gently blow drying and re-installing with the horn down.

Assuming it's a Meta system, besides water ingress, another problem apparently is a discharged battery...now I know that as it goes off while you're driving would mean that the battery current would be ok, but I wonder whether there is a poor connection to the siren, fooling it into 'thinking' that the battery is low...just a thought!
Maybe you could try disconnecting/reconnecting the siren connector a few times to clean up the connector (the siren will sound as its disconnected anyway).
Cheers,
Paul

I have already taken the siren off, The car not been wet for about 3 months now so not sure if it is water, methinks a new siren is required.

I had my Meta replaced (with a newer Meta) when it decided to sulk (just clocking 20K miles) it may be packing up - hence they'd need to replace the box under the dash. You can disconnect the horn, remove it and stuff it in a towel/sweatshirt until it shuts up - but if you hazards keep flashing tehy need to be disconnected as well - then you have no alarm! So you need a new one!

"Bugger" now my alarm has started to show the same symptons. Started yesterday going off throughout the day, I've just had to disconnect the siren because it's now sounding continuously (and i'm NOW DEAF)
