Went for a run today and left the car to cool down. Went back to it and it was "hissing". High pressure air leaking from a warn hose. It sits at the front of the engine and runs close to the oil filler cap, downwards. Spoke to Ian at Sportmotive who says it could be carrying fuel vapour?! Can't really smell fuel, but it is in the garage with the boiler and my 5yr old son above in bed!!
Bit worried to say the least. Any ideas please?

Thanks,

Steve.

Could be an air conditioning pipe, if its not leaking water and doesn't smell of fuel it must be. The hissing will stop when it runs out of gas then the air con won't work. A garage that repairs air con should be able to fix it and regas the system.smile

Had a similar problem with my car. Turned out that the fan wasnt working and wasnt cooling the Engine down. Dont know if thats the case for you. Made the water boiling hot (280 o) and sounded like a pressure cooker
