Jack shaft seal?? What is it?

Following on from my oil leak, does anyopne know what this seal is and how easy to replace as that seems to be the leak according to Barnet TVR. Doesnt look like im going to have the car for rockingham though...

Doesn't the jack shaft run the power steering. Isn't it an engine out job to change?

It was deffo oil and not PS leaking, so not sure. Trying to think what else is around the engine in that area that may be leaking? Its not the scavenger pump pip iirc.

The power steering is electrical and isn't driven from the engine. I think Redtuscan is winding you up mate.

On the MK1 Tuscans the power steering pump was driven from the engine, some later MK1's & MK2's have the electrical power steering pump.

As for changing the seal I would think the engine front casing would have to be removed which would be quiet tight with the engine in situ.
