getting an ajp to run at its best

Im trying to make sure Im not missing anything in my quest to make sure my engine is running in top form (without going for a full rebuild)

heres the list ive come up with of things to check, while its having a 12k service, new cams/followers and decat - have I missed anything?

compression test - what figures should be expected on an ajp 4.2?
valve/tappet clearance
cam timing
throttle pot setup
new coil packs, ht leads and iridium spark plugs should sort the ignition side of things, right?

have I missed anything other than ecu mapping and porting (i gather the ajp and its attached manifolds are good candidates for some porting work) both of which ill hopefully get done at some future point?

what else, besides a full rebuild, could be checked? and what importance should be placed on the order that these things are done in?

Cylinder leakage check, will give you and idea of the condition of valve seats and ring sealing.

Not a lot else you can check really unless you want the thing apart.
