Probably......

Was driving down to the New Forest Friday evening (spotted a Silver VXR a little way in front of me heading towards Dibden Purleau) when I heard a very noisy diesel van behind me in the queue....

Only trouble was that I soon realised that the noise was me....

No oil warning, no low oil pressure, no high temps, but definitely a bottom end noise. The nice AA man said 'that's not good....' and proceeded to take it away on the back of his truck....

The only silver lining in this cloud is that I broke down only about 15 miles from Picadors - so at least I know it is in safe and knowledgable hands. Certainly couldn't fault their customer service so far - even if their first words were 'doesn't sound good...'

56 plate VXR with 9500 miles on the clock. Shouldn't be happening :-(

Fingers crossed...

Now I'm driving a Vectra! It is a black one though....

Without wishing to profit form your misfortune, can I have your slot?

My GTS died this weekend and needs serious TLC from the Big Fish

That's the least of my worries - I'm just worried about my baby.....

And anyway, I've already paid for the catback and it is at Monkfish now - waiting and lonely....

Up to Roger of course. I haven't told him yet (first call tomorrow morning) so he will have a hole to fill as I was booked in for the whole day.

Blimey, sorry to hear this mate, I know the feeling of a broken car which is your pride and joy, its horrible!!

I must be honest as a potential/imminent buyer of a 6.0L VXR, talk of discs and pads needing to be replaced pretty soon and at huge cost and now a Ro that has basically not even been run in yet going pop, doesn't exactly fill me with confidence....

Then that speedo issue and then the recall of side air bags etc

Is this just a bad time to be on the forum or is this what it is like in the life of a Ro?

Hope you get sorted out soon mate!

Well if it needs a new bottom end maybe you can arrange the replacement parts and accidentally put a 4" crank in there to make 402 cubes, 6.6L smile
Cost is basically the same and you can use forged parts etc. Though I guess Mr Warranty will probably give you a new LS2 engine, which by all accounts and another recent post no longer exist. Good luck finding one. Be intersting if you have the same problems.

Big ends sound more like thumps too, if it sounded like a diesel with no loss of power or oil pressure etc, then maybe its just a collapsed lifter, so you might be lucky. (woops, main's, not big ends!)

Hi there,
Sorry to hear your engine problems with your VXR too! It will be interesting to see how you are treated and if you are successful in getting a replacement engine that you require???Ive contacted my dealer twice again today (they promised to ring me Friday with an update on mine,of course they didnt!!) no more news, its not there fault, there hands are tied, its Vauxhalls Problem. Ive also contacted a few more influential people direct with my current concerns. It does not look at all good. Very very disappointed. Sort it out Vauxhall or pay me out and you can have the ******** whole car back!!
Its not alot of use as it is! Again to date no one has contacted me from Vauxhall main customer care!!!
Good Luck.

Hi there,
Thanks for advice. Will try him tomorrow. I am seeking legal advice at the moment. I can totally believe you have been messed around 6 months. Its a sham and the more of this that goes on the more these cars will de-value and fast!As customer confidence wains.A great pity.
