I have a small wobble on my wheel which after inspection I have decided to it be the bearing. "Wobbles" is probably an extreme word to use, if you stand and push the top of the tyre towards the car, release and push again there is a small knocking noise. What I need to know are what are the torque settings for the studs and bolts involved. Rear passenger wheel XJR-8 98-Reg
Thanks

I Have exactly the same amount of play in both my rear hubs, some of it is in the diff output flange, some of it is in the universal joint couplings (suggest pumping some grease in via the nipple) ooh err!biggrin and a very small amount is in the bearing itself, which i think is there to allow for thermal expansion

Would not be tempted to change this bearing personally unless it's making a definate rumbling noise, is quite a job requiring a press and carefull setting up of the preload, and subseqeunt rear wheel alignment as bottom fulcrum bolt sets the rear toe-in

Maybe some other owners have checked there rear wheels? and could contribute

Hope this helps

Yeah that would be great, would any other owners have a look to see if they have any play. I have no other whining noise so I doubt the bearing is that far worn.

I thought this might be related to my previous post about 3 weeks again with a knocking noise comming from the same wheel, although this seems to have stopped now and I havent heard a peep out if it since *touches wood*, what the hell could that have been, Ive checked all bushes and joints in that area, although they are very dry I cant find evidence and perishing
