Hi can anyone help I have a 993 and a child and I have purchased a seat for the little fella which fits fine and faces forward!!! But I cannot switch off the damn air bag. Therefore I need to purchase the air bag deactivation unit and have it fitted!!! therefore I need to purchase a porsche seat to plug in to the deactivation unit!!! The seat I have cost £110 and is fine! The Porsche unit will cost £1000 fitted! Has anybody found a way around this? does anyone supply the plug so that I can fit the deactivation unit and plug the plug in, therefore completing the circuit thus allowing me to fit whatever seat I want?????

£1000 pounds .....I ask ya! where do they get that from?

www.carnewal.com sell the resistor for replacing the driver airbag module. I assume it also works on the passenger side.

Your choice but I would always put my sprogs in the back.

I agree with you totally about the rear seat but with the space being so tight back there I didn't think anyone would make a seat for the back. However looking on ebay today (a day late) there is one for sale! guess the inlaws will have to have the one I bought. Do you know where I can buy a rear seat for the toddler (midsize) i.e. over 6 months????

i've put a keyswitch in the glovebox of my 993 that disconnects the airbag and connects a 2.7 ohm (from memory) resistor in to the circuit.

Not sure if this is of any use but I have a very lightly used porsche car seat for the rear of a 993. Ages 9 mths to approx 3yrs old. I think its called a prince BUT my son never really found it all that comfy to be honest. If interested email me. Mike
