Riding out of Sheffield towards sanke pass came across a Truvelo.
The thing is My Road Angel didnt alert me to it because it was on the other side of the road.

Now there was a white line going right the way across the road(both carriage ways) In the camera's view.

Now do these things have to get you from the front? Because if they get you from behind as well Thats a serious problem for road angel and my licence

The white line going across the entire road is just to catch overtakers. To catch you going the other way, they would need a white line at either end of the piezo electric strips, because they need to take the photo after they have measured the speed.
I've never seen this, probably because part of the point is to get a photo of the driver's face. However, I have seen several Truvelos with two sets of piezo strips one on either side of the camera which itself can be rotated to cover both directions at a different time.

If you were going away from it, I would say you are safe.

Cheers Deltaf/boxter

They can indeed be configured to take a picture from behind as well I wonder if it needs to be on your side of the road?

also the sensors in the floor look very vulnerable. Any one know how I can join MAD

Copied from the web site:-

The Combi Smc is approved for two modes of rear photography, as well as front photography.

In both modes the first photograph is taken with the front wheels on the 1.8 metre line. The second photograph is taken either ½ sec later or 20 metres further on. The first photograph shows the speed and the millisecond time to 1.8 metres, and the second photograph the inter-photo time. This is expressed as either 500ms or seconds & milliseconds (e.g.1.390) depending on the photographic mode chosen.

Front or rear photography is a user-selectable option upon switch-on, to suit the site layout at each location.

Although the website claims type approval for rear photography, it also says you need to select front or rear at switch on. I'd be suprised if anyone went for rear, as it takes two photos rather than one for some reason, and you don't get the driver's face.
I think you can tell which it is using by looking at the lines and the filter:
line between strip and camera + magenta filter = front
strip between line and camera + no magenta filter = rear.

Did it actually flash? Once or twice?

I didnt see a flash. But I'm really parranoid these days was just enjoying my ride no trafic clear strieght road.
Up until then the Road angel was telling me everything on a road I hadnt been on before and all was well with the world.

Its seems I'm worrying over nothing just my over active paranoid imagination. It was the line on my side of teh road that got me worrying.

Thanks for the help guys
