...spotted it behind me today - black Skoda Octavia, reg starting HF02

PS Warminster, Wiltshire police have a red Accord Type R too - usually seen trying to goad the local bolt-on boys into a race - and then relieving them of their license when they take the bait!

Thought these kind of "asshole" tactics by the police were a little frowned upon by their superiors? Apparently not...

I've had a Golf VR6 do this to me in Manchester.

I approached the lights at a decent speed and braked sharply as I recognised this Golf from a previous encounter in my old Corrado VR6.

He was revving the engine a little and as the lights changed to orange I started off and did an immediate left-turn as he hurried off across the junction, probably hoping to catch me either following him or blasting off into the distance. No chance this time mate!

If you do not fall for their ruse can you then get them done for...

...aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring (MS52)
...causing or permitting (MS54)
...inticing (MS56)

...racing on the public highway (offence codes in brackets)

I'd make sure you have proof before you go alleging anything though

Well they tried to entice me into a race when i was in my Mk2 Golf GTI - i didnt realise it was them to start with but i didnt take the bait anyway. Next thing i knew, they flew past me in a very dangerous place, blasted up the dual carriageway and then stopped in a layby. Next thing i see is two uniformed coppers get out and swap drivers and then blast off again; presumably just out playing with their toy!

I know of a guy in Warminster with a modified Fiesta (i know, i know...) - red Accord tried to race him, he raced and then he lost his license.

LOL ya shoulda pulled em over and asked them to accompany you to the back of your car, where a swift bollocking about racing on the highway would be in order, followed closely by them "falling down the stairs" before releasing them back to their vehicle....
