I have done a search, honest smile

Broadly speaking, if I were to require my non PAS steering rack refurb'ing how long would it take? A couple of days or a couple of weeks? It's the TVR version, not the Sierra version if that makes a difference (no doubt it does to my wallet!).

Doesn't need doing immediately, but it would be nice to know I can leave the Griff at the garage while I'm on holiday and the 'take the rack out / refurb it / put it back in' work could reasonably be expected to be done over a fortnight.

I checked with the engineering company I use and they say 7-10 days max, assuming the whole thing isnt a write off (and I know it isn't)!

Does anyone know what a "rack refurb" actually includes? The things that can wear are internal track rod ends; sliding rack gear in its housing; steering shaft bearings; and gear teeth on rack and pinion.
