Ok had quite a bit of intest in my Ali header tank.
See pic's of New Header and overflow.

As it is it does not come with the back plate, but I'm sure it can be made with a large rear bracket so it can be mounted like mine.

Also the T bracket I made myself. So if you are intested in the overflow also then this will not be included.

Let me know if your intested and state if you would like a large rear bracket or a standard bracket, also if you interested in the overflow. (this was not on my car at the show, as it was the first time I've used the car and wanted to check I was not loosing fluids.)

Also I was thinking it may be beter for the hoses to join at 145 degress not 90.

Price will be aprox £110 for the header and £60 for the overflow (with out T bracket)
Prices depend on how many order I can get and the price for the extra back plate bracket if required.

Interested in both. You can get pre formed sections to pop a 90 degree in.

PS, standard bracket please. Cheers.

OK I hope. Left out the jokes as I didn't think I could carry them off without getting the punch lines right etc then you die on your feet. Never been too good at talking infront of a group of people be it a technical chat or pleasure. But a great day all around. Be looking at the BBWF stuff over the weekend to see what went on.

PS, found out how the buttons worked.

If you are sure the volume is the same as the old one, I think the sums I did on a similar said so, I am still in.

Yes its 1.8 ltrs the same volume as the plastic one.
that's where I made the mistake with the 1st one. as I was only looking at the volume size, not the total size inc the cap, which is not calculated in the volume size.

I will double check this weekend tho with a jug. also will not sell any untill I have found my heating problem.

I very much doubt it's the header but want to play it safe.

Some things that I had with mine when it was playing up. The rad was shot although not enough to cause the issues, recored.

Main problem was a poor seal on the blanking cap. Proved that with an extra rubber seal then got a new swan neck as it was the neck part that was mis shaped.

Air lock in the heater. Easier to bleed with the mod on the other thread.

Backfilling seemed to help but not sure it was a fluke. Took ages though.

Header tank raised as far as the boot would allow, seemed also help with the air lock issues.

Heater seem to be working fine, so I don't think I have an air lock there.

I will presure test it this weekend, to make sure everything is sealing.

Going to take the rad out also, and give it a good flush.

If not I think I'll go for an Ali rad. smile

I'm interested, but for the moment I've managed to fix my split plastic one!

I also need to stop an oil leak, a PAS fluid leak and rebush the front suspension... maybe I'll just sell it as it stands.

Ok may be best to put it on hold for a month, as carob wants one also but not till his heads are sorted.

OK as long as my replacement holds. Its second hand but showing the same stress/strain at the hose connect on the bottle as the original.

I'm intrigued by the pipe going into the wheel arch. Is that a heater mod for cool air by any chance?

They go to the side air vents in the car, and to the holes in the front of the car, was only done on a very few early cars.

Sorry not sure what you mean by the pre formed sections.

Reference to the pipe joins to the tank. Samco, for example, do the pre formed 90 degree bend pipes. I used the same to keep the pipes away from going over the manifolds. Realised that with the ordinary pipes they kink and part close up.

Well as I said they are currently at 90 degress, but I said it may be better to be 145. if they eas 180 then the whell arch would get in the way.

But comming out that side in stead of the wing side makes it a lot easier to
route the hoses.

But I think 145 degress will be Ideal.
