My new Becker head unit - Thanks & Windscreen Seal
Discussion
After all the hassle i had with the thing off ebay, finally fitted it yesterday and it works perfectly - apart from the sat nav bit for which I am ordering the disks for
In trying to find some disks that worked I bought a set of very new original navteq disks off ebay which are for Becker Traffic Pro - High speed 3.0 or Becker DTM High Speed 2.0 (serial number 1547 593 & 585). I dont have a use for them, but if anyone does please drop me a line (they work ok in the pc and are all original)
But thanks to everyone for their help with all that
Windscreen Seal - i never noticed this when I bought the car (3 months ago) but ive since found out that the windscreen seal is not an original item (I know this will be obvious and old news to many - but i didnt), its had a replacement in the past all properly done but its been explained that often this will be done using a generic aftermarket seal not the proper porsche 2 part goal post seal. As a result the seal has broken and you get a massive amount of wind noise and and it falls out. The dealer is sorting it out for me and having the proper item installed today and setting overnight in the warm.
Just thought id mention this if anyone does go looking at new cars, might be worth checking for this - i.e. the seals on both windscreens should look the same. Not saying the aftermarket ones are no good, just that the one on my car has failed prematurely.

i dont think the disks from yours will work, im getting quite clued up on this now
they are split between the 47XX series and the 7XXXseries (non high speed and high speed) then the other types which use different type of software altogether (dvd based rather than cd rom) as i remember your is a 7XXX type?
luckily tho the internet is providing an excellent source of all sorts of helpful things currently
