when i hit the wind screen wiper on my 85 280i nothing happens, i can hear a little clicking sounds comming from where all the relays come together, but i cant figure out which relay controls the wiper functions. any ideas?? i ran a jump wire from the battery to the wiper motor and the wiper motor works just fine, so ther must be some sort of problem with the relay/wiring. any ideas will be very helpful.
thanks

I'm no expert, and as you say it could be the relays
(I assume you've checked the fuses).

But in my experience the first place to look on a TVR is the connectors. Especially those under the nose that lead to the headlight motors. Theyre not really made to withstand all weathers (I think they were preally only designed for internal use) and often suffer from oxydisation on the contacts.

Open them up and give 'em a clean.

And good luck!

Another place to look is the park switch on the side of the motor. I know you said that you had put a wire directly to the motor and it worked OK but it is possible to do this with a knackered switch.
Mine completely corroded away a couple of years ago and I put a wire directly to the motor to get it working whilst I sourced a new one.
