I'm buying a replacement exhaust for my pre-cat 4.3 (not inc Y-piece)

I believe replacement exhausts are identical between 400, 430 and 500 (interchangeable between 500 and earlier models) but my concern is regards the welded exhaust bracket that bolts to the gearbox housing.

Is this in the same position for all griffs i.e both Rover and T5 gearboxes?

I have a 500 `96 plate, and there is no bracket that fits to the gearbox, do you mean the plate near the front of the exhaust just before it joins the y piece, which is bolted to the crankcase.
perhaps the early cars are different?confused

My pre-cat exhaust has a little piece of metal welded to it which bolts onto the bottom of the bellhousing.

Or at least it did until I smacked it on a gate retainer redface

Hoover.

My replacement exhaust was not an easy fit and required some modification.

But I am slowly learning that my Griff is slightlyly different to most (yes I know they are different .. But mine is nuts different )
