My drivers door mirror has decided to come loose and drop down when I go out so I have a lovely view of the tarmac, also the motor only goes side to side and not up and down any suggestions for a repair or is it a replacement

Is it the mirror glass that's loose or the entire housing? If it's the glass it's easy to remove and refit using double sided sticky pads, the type used for sticking number plates on.

There are two motors in the housing: one operates up and down movement, the other lateral movement. I'd remove the door speaker and check the connector between the main door loom and the mirror loom to start with.

Mine cam loose on the Griff recently and it turned out to be the grub screw that had come loose. I ended up unscrewing the whole assy off the door, tightening up the grub screw and then screwing the mirror back onto the door. It's a very fiddly job which requires lots of patience and tlc.

Do both mirrors only adjust side to side (relay / wiring), or is only one side at fault (mirror motor/wiring).

Are you sure its not the infamous turret that has broken.
