That's the rumour. No-one has confirmed it yet though.

The headline should read:
"Toseland confirmed at Tech3 for 2008, Ten Kate Honda again in 2009"
The factory Yamaha is struggling into the top 5 with Valentino Rossi as the pilot.
So, all we're asking is for Tech3 to:
1) possibly develop the bike for a different tyre brand
2) bridge the current performance gap to the factory bikes
3) bridge the gap the current factory bikes obviously have, probably using the very equipment that is holding the factory bikes back, while they get the new stuff.
4) or do 2 and 3 on Dunlops
Riiiight.
He should have held out for a factory. I wonder if Suzuki or Kwak would have spoken to him had Tech3 not been fawning all over him in the press?
Who was the last WSB rider to do well in a Satellite team?
WHAT IS HE THINKING - UTTER MADNESS.
He will be no where and following the same career path as Hodgson! The WSK Honda ride for the next few year was to be full factory and big buck - BURK.
Kiryoni I recon will be on that bike now (well think he would have been in the team either way).
MotoGP - You have to have a Works bike, a Yam even on Michelins is struggling with Vale on it - JT would be mugged by Vale if they were on exactly the same bike, so a down the grid Tech 3 bike - laughable.................
Words fail me. And you get to race half as much!

All sources seem to be pointing towards the 2008 Tech 3 M1 to be a lot different to the current bike and, more importantly, using a different tyre supplier. He will be no where and following the same career path as Hodgson! I bet he doe need the money - he is doing it cos he think he can do it (good - respect, but he won't). Hodgson used to make JT look very average when team mates for a few years and ya he may have gotten better but he is not i the same league as Rossi, either the 2 Honda works riders, Stoner, Hopkins, Melhandri, Capirex and quite a few others.

So has he, and he wouldn't have taken a ride on a back marker team just for the sake of a MotoGP ride. He has stated he would only do it on a full factory bike, which is why he has turned down Gresini Honda and D'Antin Ducati over the last 12 months. Wait for the official Yamaha/Tech3 press release.jellison said:

Strange thing to say especially as he has had the upper hand over people like Barros and Biaggi etc.. over the last 2 years. Both of whom are MotoGP/GP500 winners, how many races has Hopkins won?Edited by FourWheelDrift on Thursday 2nd August 09:28

It will all be much the same - no works team largely behind the works ones! Kwak will be further up even than this year and the ones already doing will will be do the same or better and the other new Yam (Works rider - Lorenzo will be miles better than Edwards) - maybe Edwards will be on the TK / Honda Blade next year!? Why would he want to drop to the Tech 3 bike!
