After reading an orange peel thread over in BMW, It sparked something which happened a couple of days ago...

I was walking around an upmarket area of shanghai and saw a small RR showroom, I decided to just walk in and Drool at the cars, while I was there I decided to inspect the car, the car was covered in ORANGE PEEL!!!!

I was 100% sure this car wasn't a fake RR (in china don't forget)
Is this normal for RR or something??

Not only that, but there was a lady sitting at the desk in the showroom and she was dressed in a Jeans and a T-Shirt,
If I walked in there to buy a car I would have walked out and got a bentley instead.

You dont say the model but Rolls/Bentley paint is usually magnificent, sounds like that car may have had paintwork

Generally the paintwork is magnificent. all the ones ove had have no orangepeel whatsoever. Oh and you wouldnt walk from a RR dealership to a bently one...it would be like walking away from a 5 series in to a Mondeo.

Are they good quality? Are you serious? Was it new? - and was it definitely RR, there were pictures around a while ago (can't recall where) of a new chinese car which looked, at first take, similar to a Phantom, although i would have thought the differences would have stood out before the paint. I have never seen poor origianl paint, but some horrible resprays.

They take great care at the factory to ensure the paint is spot on before the cars leave.

That's strange,
it was totally brand new, I have pictures on my laptop, which I will post later, although it doesn't show the peel too well.

It certainly wasn't a copy, if it was I am very impressed by the chinese biggrin

So it's probably been painted since it left Goodwood. This is a dealer issue, not a reflection on RR.
