Hi, can anyone recommend a 7 specialist in North Hampshire. I'm between Alton and Basingstoke so looking for someone fairly local..ideally.

I have new harnesses, tonneau and luggage cover that need fitting to my R500 and to be honest it's probably beyond me...you should see my shelves!!!

Thanks in anticipation

Grade A useless reply I know - but I live between Alton and Basingstoke too and will be the proud owner owner of a new R400 as of Monday next. Given that your DIY skills are substantially more advanced than mine if you've actually got shelves do let me know if you find someone!

Oh for God's sake, smile just go and joing the Lotus 7 Club...or pop along to one of the local meetings. I'll wager that half the bods there will help you fit the tonneau and boot cover there and then and the other half will sort the harnesses out too. These are simply DIY jobs to be honest and beyond no one if they have the right tools (I bet you'll find one of those members will have a popper tool too)

Simple DIY indeed......my shelves look like they were erected by Salvador Dali biggrin

Thanks for the reminder about the 7 club my membership ran out last month...now renewed. I have a few other things that need doing as well so probably best to take it to a specialist, just don't want to have to trundle down to Dartford if I can avoid it.

Pugsey, assume you are looking forward to the R400...look forward to seeing you on the A339. Did I see you had your name down for the new M3 as well?

30-40 miles up the M3 to James Whiting ?

Definately one of the best there is for Caterhams.

I use Red Line in Caterham, Surrey.

Not that close to where I am in Farnborough but very good (and fair) blokes.

Are you planning on coming to The Phoenix some evening?

On the A30 between Hartley Witney and Hook. It's where the Berkshire and North Hants branch of the Lotus Seven Club meet on the second Wednesday and the last Thursday of every month. Anyone can drop in, even non-Seven Club members.

Ah yes by what was the Lagonda restoration chappie.

Emailed said 7 specialist, sadly no response. Will have to pick up the phone I guess. Pet hate of mine..companies that have website's and email addresses and don't bother to look at their inbox's. Complete waste of time and money IMHO.

Rant over biggrin

Can anyone recommend what to do with my Caterham tillet seats. Getting a little obsessive I know...seats are fine but the cloth and belt surrounds look a little tatty. Anyone refurb them or do we just chuck them away and buy some new ones??

Jim's truly terrible at responding via email - which irritates me too. Nice guy though!

Re Tillets - not sure whether you can refurb them. You could remove the carpet completely....if the bases are scratched, little you can do for that too. I'll take them off your hands if you are looking to replace them though.

If you would like to chuck one or both away, I have a large wheelie bin you can use and will even pick them up and put them in it for you wink

Ah ha....found someone to refurb them so problem solved...sorry to dissapoint. £72 a side which I think is quite reasonable.
