Hi i ve owned my cerb for about 2 weeks now and cant keep smilling. I have covered around 1k miles on it and I am taking it to europe on sunday and will cover about 3-4K. Has anybody got any advice on what to prepare for? obviously i got some supplies like engine oil, fuses, big fuse, WD40 a few spanners and tape!

The clutch is a bit stiff and there are a couple of faint oil leaks/drops one on the one side of the engine guard, one where the gearbox mounts to the engine and one on the fibreglass cover of the front of the engine bay. In this the leak is on the top side of the cover under the top of the engine on the drivers side. My feeling is that there may be a tiny leak somewhere and oil moves on to other areas.

Any suggestions would be very welcome

The leak that you have on the engine cover topside is coming from the breather.Check pipe work coming to and from. But more than likely the breather itself.

Thanks for that BlueThunder, it does make sense since its not really a leak but like a mist of oil on the cover,

whereabouts is the breeether?

Don't forget to take a couple of "don't knock me down" hi-viz jackets ..... just in case you do have to stop along the side of the road somewhere.

I know that in France, and probably elsewhere as well, it's the law to carry them.

You might also need a triangle/FA kit and complete set of spare builbs, depending which countries you go to.. I don't know the exact rules.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, today i arrived in Dusseldorf (took me around 3-3.5 hrs from Calais!)

The car run with no probs whatsoever, so far i humbled an rs4, evo8 and an m5 they were the only ones that attempted to take on the beast. max speed on the autobahn about 170, bring it on!!!!! Only downside that i had to pay a visit to every single petrol station on the way, if you are interested i will keep you posted on the beast taking on the italians next...

Nice one Kostas smile

I did Calais-Dusseldorf in 3.5 hours at the start of the Cerburgring Tour earlier in the year. I had to leave 6 hours after the other 19 'Ringers (tho' I did take the train against their ferry to Dunkirque) and arrived only an hour after them :snigger:

Yes it was pulling as I still had throttle travel left. I'm now in milan and the attention the car is getting here is something else plus everyone wants to race me. I was gutted that I couldn't enjoy the south germany autobahns and swiss alps as it was constantly pouring with rain, the car aquaplained 3 times enough for me to s...t my pants but everything worked perfectly and not even a drop of water in the cabin or boot. Maybe the drive was not so exciting today but it was the ultimate reliabulity test for the car. Tomorrow brindusi and then greece

Hi guys I'm now in brindisi in the ferry had such an eventful night yesterday, driving from milan south it was pouring down, at one point the electrics went awol, stopped at a service station to check the fuses they were fine then the car wouldn't start, it was the big fuse with the help of onlooking italians I replaced it and recharged the battery after that I had the best drive ever at night in the wet completely anihilated a cayenne turbo a gta and various bms best bit going through the tunnels Tonight I have the last and more difficult bit of the trip driving through the greek mountains to get to the south. Any comments on my fuse prob would be welcome I think its driving many miles in heavy rain that caused it
