As the tickets for next years British GP have gone on sale (with some good early booking discounts) I was wondering if anybody could answer a few questions for me.
I've never been to the GP before so I'm planning on going for the full 3 day experience. First question: is it worth paying extra for the silver/gold etc tickets over general admission?
Secondly, I think finances will allow me to purchase either a silver or gold ticket so which of the following is the best areas to watch from: Bridge, Club B, Farm, Stowe A, Stowe B, Pit Straight A, Copse D and Copse E?
Thirdly, is there gonna be a PH meet type thingy happening because I have nobody who will go with me?
Finally, whats the deal for camping? I'd hope to be able to enjoy a day at the racing then heading back to the tent for BBQ and drinks. (assuming it is decent weather!)

I'm not a regular at the British F1 GP just due to the costs...but....
Last time I went we got a B&B about 15 miles away in a pub. You can camp at Whittlebury but they charge £115 for 3 nights. There may be other places nearby that are cheaper - like the farmer over the road from the entrance. Camping is more sociable obviously.
If you're going for a grandstand then make sure you can see a screen. Club is OK without a grandstand seat as you're high up. I'd take somewhere on the exit of Luffield so you can see the complex and entry to the pits. A general admission ticket only works if you're prepared to fight for a spot and don't mind looking through a fence. I think the grandstand seats are roving on Fri/Sat so get some views on other bits of the circuit on those days.

All good advice. There are numerous "campsites" - basically farmers' fields but some weren't fully open this year due to the weather. On Friday at least, some of the grandstands are actually free - eg those seated areas at Brdige. Not sure about Saturday though. Finally, it is definitely well worth going on Friday - 90 minutes (IIRC) of F1 practice for starters and time to "do" the sideshosw - eg BMW pit lane "experience".Last time I went we got a B&B about 15 miles away in a pub. Looking from the track this year whilst travelling back to the pits, I thought that high up in the stand beyond Bridge would be a good vantage point. Looks like you could see down to Abbey (perhaps as far as Club and thus across to Stowe) and also watch them through the complex and Woodcote.
Yes, it is worth buying a grandstand ticket. Not least because you can walk off and do what you want knowing you have a seat to go back to. If you get a general admission ticket you have to get in very early to get a good spot and then you can't move really because if you do someone will nick it.
Copse D and Copse E are both good, that is where I watched it from this year.
On a side note - does anyone know why you can only buy tickets for some of the grandstands? I can't see where you can buy 3 days tickets for Copse C or Luffield C for example?
