I'm trying to get the injection on my 350i back together by this afternoon, problem is I can't find my workshop book anywhere due to a house move. Can someone tell me the torque settings of the trumpet housing to inlet manifold and also the plenum to trumpet housing.
Cheers

Unless someone has a definitive figure I would guess at no more than 20lbf, as they aren't very big bolts, and are going into alloy.

For the plenum ones I just do it by hand rather than use a torque wrench. They aren't critical as you should also use some blue stuff to seal around the bottom.

Can't remember the figures and don't have any references to hand, but they're small bolts into alloy and won't be particularly tight. I would guess around 30 lb-ft, in other words done up firmly rather than really tight. All the bolts have to do is hold the components together, they don't take any significant load, and the joint is sealed by the sealant so you don't need to clamp them hard to get a gas tight seal.

Edited to add: the only reason they need to be more than nipped up is to stop them rattling loose.

I think its 20 max maybe even as low as 12.
I know the plemum ones are 6 or 8.

Shame you did not ask yestaday as had the manual then, as was in the wedge.

Found this from a PDF.

Fit manifold bolts and, working in the sequence illustrated, tighten as follows:
Initially, tighten bolts numbered 1, 4, 9 and 12 in numerical order to 5 Nm (4lbf.ft).
Inlet manifold bolts - initial tighten = 10 Nm (8 lbf.ft).
Inlet manifold bolts - final tighten = 51 Nm (38 lbf.ft).
Tighten inlet manifold gasket clamp bolts to 18 Nm (14 lbf.ft).
Tighten inlet manifold bolts to 51 Nm (38 lbf.ft)

Clean mating faces of rocker covers and cylinder heads.

Using new gaskets, position rocker cover, fit bolts and, working in a diagonal sequence tighten intially to 4 Nm (3 lbf.ft) and finally to 8 Nm (6 lbf.ft).

Secure ht leads to rocker cover.

Clean coolant outlet elbow mating faces.

Lubricate and fit new ’O’ ring to outlet pipe.

Position coolant outlet elbow, fit bolts and tighten to 22 Nm (17 lbf.ft).

Position alternator, fit mounting bolts and tighten to 45 Nm (34 lbf.ft).

Position alternator cables and tighten terminal B+ to 18 Nm (13 lbf.ft) and terminal D+ to 5 Nm (3.5 lbf.ft).

Position auxiliary housing, fit bolts and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lbf.ft). Fit nut and tighten to 22 Nm (17 lbf.ft).

Clean jockey pulley mating faces.

Many thanks for all that info. I think I'll tighten the trumpet housing up to 20 lb-ft and use some of the blue stuff.I'll go and finish it off now then...
Cheers
