after 8 weeks of being serviced, clutch, master cylinder, diff bush, discs and various other parts replaced including the valve guides and the cylinder head inspected, my car was run upto full running temprature and it was discovered that the engine will need to come out again to have the liners replaced

so what do i do, 4 litre? been told its not worth it, get some rr upgrades done to the 3.6, or fit a 5 litre ajp? smile

what have others done to T350's in this sort of situation?

im wanting to kill someone right now but ill take my frustration out on the right pedal when i get the car back!

the engine will be going to tvr power so im sure they will have some advice but im curious to what others have done, im also tempted to try something different if it can be done, ie v8 in it.

Ouch! That sounds more than a little unfair and I really hope its the last problem for you.Look at it this way-it's an opportunity for a serious upgrade. If its TVR Power you are going to use with their waranty offer I'd go for the 4L option if I were you.I love my 3.6 but there is no getting away from the fact I still miss the torque of the Tuscan S I had before that and it's on my list once I have put 30k on the T350-assuming I don't trade it for a mk2 S Tuscan that is...

Hollow!

Speaking as the bloke who suggested you change your name to Hollowpockets I'm feeling sorry for you!

I can't believe the trouble you're (continuously) having.

Time to get rid maybe?

Seconded.
Sorry to hear about your woes Graham. That really is bad luck.
Hope you get it all sorted out for good, and enjoy the beast again soon.

hey folks, thanks for the suggestions

yes i was hollowlegsGTA at one point, Hollowpockets was a well suggested name and i shall keep it for the time being. smile got to laugh or ill cry

after very little thought today and much time over the last few months considoring 'upgrades' i decided i had no option but to give dom at tvrpower instructions to convert my engine to the 4 litre with the head work and red rose spec parts. Its 6.5k towards making my car the absolute monster iv always craved and im happy to part with the cash (along with the sp12's i just ordered, eeek) as it will be a car worth keeping.

hopefully 3-4 weeks and it will roll once more!

if the head has been rebuilt, why not just get the bottom end liners etc done and save some cash?

im not interested in doing bits here and there, as previously my luck has been that anything not replaced will break, i was planning on doing it eventually so want to get the whole lot done while the engine is out and get the upgrades, if i dont i'll regret spending money to make it the same as it was.

also the full rebuild to 2007 spec comes with the 2 year warranty which is important considoring my bad luck with cars! smile

just spent 13 weeks without mine due to top end failure. i decided to get the whole lot done to get 2 years worth of worry free motoring (engine wise anyway), and it drives and feels like a different car. that's with a 3.5k rev limit and only pootling round the se16 area so far.

Yep just had the full 4.0L RR upgrade done to mine. Also get the ACT Carbon Fibre Air Tight Air Box fitted. It makes the engine run better, more responsive and a few extra horses. My Tamora is the 3rd TVR (1st Tamora) to be fitted with the ACT Air Box.
