I have read that the later cars had 225 profile (aspect ratio unknown) and earlier cars plus those with manual steering had 205 profile. Please inform the correct profile/aspect ratio and what makes are available, thanks

I'm looking for tyres at the moment for my '98 S 500. My handbook indicates that cars with PAS should be 225/50 ZR15. The problem you will face in replacing the tyre is that choice is restricted if you wish to retain the Z rating.

If you do, the options the good folk of PH's have directed me to are the Bridgestone S03 and the Dunlop SP9000, of the two my impression of their experiences was that the Dunlop was more popular.

If you aren't worried about the speed rating, then the almost universal advice I've recieved is to take a look at the Toyo's. Be sure to tell your insurer that you have changed the rating though.

Hope that helps thumbup
