steering wheels
Discussion
IMO I think the standard steering wheel is the one thing that lets the rest of the car down. Having spent so much effort on every aspect of the design and come up with what will almost certainly become a design classic, it's as if they run out time or just got plain bored when they came to the steering wheel! I've changed mine for something that's as dramatic as the rest of the car.

I agree about the standard wheel.
When buying an aftermarket wheel, do you just buy any 350mm sized with the holes in the right places? Or do you need any special spacers, etc? What about the TVR horn button, can you just stick that into the middle of the new one - are all wheels the same size? Probably stupid questions but just something I wanna do once I get my Tuscan!
Cheers,
J

I disagree, I think the standard wheel looks just right not to Leary and sits in the car quite nice.Dont like the Cerb wheel though, they put it in the Tuscan MK2 and it looked terrible glad they went back to the original.
Am wanting to fit a MOMO TREK R steering wheel to my '07 Tuscan 2S, but TVR Power say it is not available for this car (even though their website says different)and MOMO say they do not have a compatible hub kit. I've been told that a hub kit for a late ('04/'05) Ford Fiesta may suit or that an Astra hub kit is easily modified. The other option I suppose is to drill and tap new holes into the existing hub, but I'd prefer not to do this if an easier option exists.
Has anyone fitted such a steering wheel and if so how did you do it ?
Thanks...

Congrats on getting T'ACK
Be interesting to see if this has one of the original melling AJP's.
Not wishing to hijack the thread, but I have a couple of questions on this theme too:-
1. Where can you buy new 'Personal' steering wheels these days? I know carnoisseur used to do them, but sadly no more.
2. On some of the Tus2's as has already been said, they had steering wheels like on the Cerb - with the lights and horn (I believe) operated from buttons on the left and right of the wheel. If you wanted to change this wheel for a normal 'personal' one, a) will the boss adapter be the same? and b) the horn should be ok, but would it be possible to fit say the headlight control switch from a T350 or something similar and get it all working ok?

T'ACK's been through many looks, colours, wheels & probably engines. The engine was rebuilt at TVR Power this year so I doubt it has an original AJP6 in it. It does have some unique bits - eg. roof locking, air vents and even headlight washers.

not to get away from the steering wheel theme but the car is fantastic. many paint jobs but not very good ones! mechanically the car seems excellent although i'm just finding my feet with it as it didn't come with any manual. can anyone tell me what the button on the left (opposite the hazards) is for and how do i change the clock? over the coming weeks i'm sure i'll have many other questions so thanks for the help in advance.

The button opposite the hazards is the fog lamp.I'm not entirely sure on changing the clock, as my LCD is shot, so the time could be saying anything really.
You might want to look in the classifieds on here under parts or on ebay, as only the other day I saw a Tuscan handbook pack for sale. It was defintely at one of the above places.
To set the clock you need to go to the display set up screen. To get there you press the function button then the fog lamp button & release both together. By pressing the function button again you can scroll through clock/buzzer volume/lcd contrast & shift light rpms. Rotating the function button changes the values. To exit the screen set up press the fog lamp switch.
