I have seen a few messages ref Speedos & Odometers stopping & have a strange problem with my Odometer, The Speedo works but the Odometer does not record anything.

The car is a 93 L & Originally i thought sticky dials as its getting a speed message, so removed from car after trying the thump technique & sent to Speedy Cables for recalibration & fixing.
1 month later box arrives at home with shiny speedo, Odometer has moved on a little from original reading.
Fitted to car & taken for a quick outing, but still no movement.

I have found the transducer & had a go at cleaning, not tried adjusting gap to se if that helps yet, but has anyone else had a problem like this?

Dont really want to wait & see if it starts again on its own.

Sounds like its still faulty to me. If your speedo works you are getting a signal/pulse.

Yup, I think you just cunningly 'Named & Shamed' Speedy Cables wink

TBH: I've said it before... Yours is an ETB speedo, far better to send it to ETB for repair rather than a competitor. Later cars used CAI (which Speedy is a part of).

Looks like speedy have just made an easy 50 then for just checking it works, The sticking barell is whats causing my worries. Have just called ETB to see what they can do & TBH 1 week & £35 + P&P seems fair if i can get it sorted.

Remarkably Speedy have all gone home for Tea, so i cannot ring them for an explanation on why it doesnt work.

If you ask them nicely, I'm sure someone reported that they can stop it clicking as well wink
