996 Option Codes

Any ideas what these option codes are :-

408
662
663

I'v tried the decoder at

www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp

but it doesn't list them.

My guess is that 662 and 663 are left and right hand items, probably sports seat left and sports seat right.

Just being lateral, from what I've seen of Porsche coding before.

Code 996 means 'Wallet emptying device' by the way

Afraid not Porsche seats are generally 3XX numbers,my 02 996 sports seats are 375 left 376 right for example.

I looked at my option codes and none of them tie up with your list...Somewhere I have a list of all 996 option codes Porsche technical dept sent me last year.
I will try to come across it,not easy....

I know 408 = 18" technology whhels

others are trickier..I need my list???

what year is 996??????? makes a difference.

numbers are in sequence for example;;;
221 is a locking diff
224 is ABD (993 / early 996 version of psm)

for 222 if your car has an lsd or brake differential this may give you a clue....point is it is definiyely not footwell lighting.

662 is 18" sport design wheels I think.

According to the brochure I have, 662 is PCM, 663 is PCM handset, can't see the others though

If the car you are looking at is a UK model, you can contact Porsche HQ ask for their warranty department & if you give them the full chassis number (found on the underside of the bonnet or on the VIN) they will fax/mail you a full spec of the car & all it's options/codes. work's for me !!!
