TVR build in Italy and not BUST?
Discussion
IMO you should treat it as if the company has gone NOW - there is little or no evidence to suggest they are getting their act together that I am aware of - if they do come back then great but treat it as a bonus. Do not discount the cars because of no factory however, with the network of excellent indies and the presence of TVRPower you should be fine for backup support from parts through to rebuilds. If you are getting a warranty just try to make sure it is underwritten by an established independent company and not just "the factory". Its a buyers market, get a good price and enjoy a stonking car for not much dosh.

I would dearly love to believe it is the case but everything that Smellyendski has said or been involved with has turned out to be lies so you can understand the cynicism.
If I see someone other than TVR making a statement then I will take note.
I dearly want a newer TVR but not whilst the Russian is involved at any price and i know I am not alone!

Let's face it - when something becomes rare and no longer available ..
The price goes up - good news for TVR owners
Unfortunately, this is only the case if the 'something' is considered desirable; ie. there is a demand for it.The price goes up - good news for TVR owners

Certainly by the time TVR went bust there was very little demand for the new models (for whatever reason), and the cars will probably continue to depreciate.

More "factual" than your unsubstantiated anecdote.
If we all stay quite maybe all these rumours will go away and punter will go and buy other cars (well they have to now).
Old out of manufacture cars are So much more fun.
If you want some supper dealer based model that is great on reliablity it never was and never will be. Unless you get all the bugs out of it yourself.
Old cars I love em, new cars - who cares............

I completely agree.
One thing however would suck, namely: If you buy a car for 30k and need to sell it in 2 years for 10k...
this is what I am worried about
Life is a gamble - I have spent alot more than that on mine - doubt I'd get 20k for it (no it is not a std chim500 - I know how much they go for) - but such is life. One thing however would suck, namely: If you buy a car for 30k and need to sell it in 2 years for 10k...

Same with any commodity. The more classic it is the less likely you are to sell it.
Alos the older the car, that can still kick most new stuff out there is so much more satifying.
Just make whatyou have better and faster - I HATE changing cars - once you have a Mega car why change it - alot of other stuff to do with life and money............
Can't under stand people that chop there wagon in for the latest new model every few year just as it is nicely run in / all the bugs are out of it, and loose a sh*te load EVERY TUIME YOU DO IT!!!!!
(Bet there is a few spelling mistakes in that lot!)

i know it's been said before, but surely there's some eccentric british businessman who fancies a crack at running tvr. i'm sure the comapny and all trademarks could be picked up for next to nothing now. the support infrasturcture is as strong as ever now too, and if the sp6 engine was built to the spec identified by all the current specialists, it would be fine.
aaaaaaaand rest.................
