Just having a quick check under the bonnet before a long drive tomorrow, found a rubber tube deliberately blanked off with a bolt in the end. Looks like it once came off one of two pipes sticking out from below the throttle pot. Both bits of pipe have nipples on the end, but nothing connected to them. Rubber tube was just lying on top of the rocker cover.

Is this right?

Car's running fine btw.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Normal, its the plenum pre heater disconnected.

A mod on earlier cars, pretty sure factory norm on later ones....

Nice photo, I was gonna do that, but in the end couldn't be arsed.

Great for others who are unsure about floating pipes in the engine bay.

Its to stop ice forming in the throttle body, potentially causing it to stick open - which lets face it, isn't going to be a concern in a trev.

This pipe is used as the vent to the top half of the engine and only used when filling the water system. Adrian@
