Can anyone give me any suggestions...my trusty 1993 4 ltr pre serp chimaera has decided to develop an unusual trait in that the rev needle is flickering when being driven, it does settle down some times and the needle moves as you accelerate but gives you a reading of +/- 500rpm not ideal...any suggestions at what i need to look at to resolve this,,,
cheers in anticipation

I'd start by checking all the connections on the coil, might be a loose wire.

Most likely one of the HT leads from the coil is running too close to the wire off your alternator which goes to the dash give rouge readings. Re-routing will resolve.

Well done Sir!

By then you're not worried about a flickering rev needle, more the flickering bonnet!
