I'm in the market for another clutch, the last one lasted 6,000 miles and am considering the Raceproved unit available from clever trevor

has anyone on here got this unit fitted and does it live up to their claims or is there a better unit available

TIA

Betty

I can't imagine why anyone would replace a Cerb clutch with any other than the new CT one to be honest. It's design alone is enough of a step forward without it being proven over a period of time for me. The original is a bit of a horror when you look at it.

Had Receproved clutch fitted back in February and have no complaints. It has been smooth since I picked the car up and feels great :-). Just to get it in perspective as 5 months doesn't sound very long - I've done around 6K miles since then.

From all the people I talked to then and have talked to since, I am sure it's the way to go.

I too have a race proved clutch in mine and feels great.

Some have mentioned a slight juddering whilst 'taking up the bite' but they have addressed this problem with new material on the friction disk.

They have a test bed that tests the clutches for various things including the fingers. They are constantly breaking the AP clutches on this bed but have yet to break one of their own.

me too, i've had a CT clutch on for about 5 months and 3000 odd miles. I did get the "juddering" on takeoff when first fitted but it doesnt happen now. No complaints here!

Mark - my CT clutch in my Tusc is still juddering when pulling away in 1st (especially when good and warm) after several thousand miles put on it. Keith informed me that they are still waiting on some new friction material - your comment verifies the need. Not sure how much longer I need to wait though....

Cheers

I had a raceproved C/T clutch in for 500 miles in Feb and it busted - i think I am unique. Friction plate material shorn off.

Had a new one fitted and yes there was incredible juddering when first bedding in but has got smoother as the hundreds of miles have gone on. Seems fine.

Leven work on mine and they speak very highly of the racepoved clutch. I think they have fitted loads and the problems with mine were a "one-off". I am a believer that you have to go with what the pro's tell you.

Perhaps after fighting Torque they'll be a few new clutches needed wink

My CT was fitted in Feb. Selecting gears was a pain for a long time, but now have no problems at all. Some take a while to bed in.
