Does anybody know where I can get a 3 position rocker switch from for my lights/headlights? I know that I have definately got a faulty switch as I had it checked out today. Basically a wire shorted inside the switch and blew it. The car is a 1980 series 1 Tasmin 280i fhc. Any advice and help much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Gareth. As far as I know, I have the original Triumph TR7 steering column and Ford rack. Would this make any difference? The switch itself is in the center consoul, which is situated on top of the transmission tunnel, below the original design horizontal dashboard. If it's ok with you, I will email you my address and if it's not the right part, I can send the switch back to you. What do you think? Thanks for you help so far.

My 86 350 has an SD1 switch, but if it's a 3 position rocker switch on the centre consol, it sounds like the type on my 79 Taimar. If it is, you can get one from David Gerald for £9.95part no 15185.(it includes new plug and connectors)

The 280s all have standard Lucas rocker switchs and certainly 2 years ago my local branch could order them new for about a fiver. The only difference between original and now is that the original would have "lights" in white on black whereas the current ones have the Euro standard light symbol. In any case, it shouldn't be too difficult to repair as the switch is only a series of brass contacts - even if it has shorted you should be able to get it going again.
