Just 165 miles today
Discussion
Dragged myself and Mrs. Twinspark out of bed at 'how bloody early' o'clock this morning, got kitted up and dragged the old VFR out of the garage.
Glad I did - temperatures up in the mid 20s, relatively quiet roads early on.
Made our way up to the Elan Valley using B and unclassified roads wherever possible - came back on the quicker A roads.
Only a couple of negatives today:
1. Just because you're on a sportsbike doesn't mean you have to get past a 2-up VFR at all costs. Particularly if this means you're going to hold me up through the next 2 miles of twisty bits.
2. Surface dressing seemed to be thrown around everywhere off the usual A-roads. Bastards.
Still, it was a nice run, need to do similar runs more often, 'cos I'm feeling a bit out of shape now.....

220 miles for me today, up to Hunstanton and back. Feel completely ed now.
Did the same, traffic was horrendous! Loads of filtering and long periods of overtaking endless queues of cars. Why would you want to queue from before Kings Lynn all the way to Hunstanton????????? to all the car drivers that pull over. to all those that didn't [most of whom were 4x4 drivers]
edited to add: did over 400 miles on friday and slept most of saturday!!! was well impressed with bike, did 4 hours in one stint but god was it slow in the derbyshire dales

I managed an entire lap of the M25. Down to Heathrow to have the bike in for it's first service, then found myself on riding the remaining stretch, as I went the wrong way. Traffic was an absolute joke, as were the bikers with panniers (prob off to brands) who refused to let me through whilst filtering. Especially the guy from Ireland who struggled to get his machine througha gap big enough for an HGV.

When I was off to Portsmouth earlier in the year, I had to filter almost the whole way between M1 and A3. I caught up with a guy on some huge Harley who was filtering at about 5mph. I ended up moving over to the gap between lanes 1&2 just to pass him.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
