service bonnet removal

Does anyone know how to remove the service bonnet?

I have to make a small repair to the inside of the pivot point (which has cracked), and as such it no longer hinges properly.

I can see the socket head bolts on the hinge, however can not seem to get access to them.

I am sure there must a simple way - here's hoping!

sorry there's no simple way to do this. You've got to remove the grille which then allows you to move the bonnet up further thus gaining access to the nuts only by using a long extension bar on your ratchet. BUT......be very careful as the nuts have a tendancy to snap off

Many thanks for the info, I'll give them a good soaking in WD40 for a few days before I start.
