I know I'm not the only one suffering this as I studied another VXR yesterday. It marks the paint quite badly, especially where the central rib meets the boot (looking at it from the rear).

It seems fairly well attached and doesn't move about much. I presume it's the wind pushing it down when on the move.

Anybody found a fix?

small piece of electricians tape under the edge of the spoiler - common problem with that part of the spoiler, sure others will their own suggestions. does seem to be caused by the downforce pressing on the spoiler.

I dont think its to do with downforce, i think its to do with boot slamming

both of my VXR's have done it

It is downforce and its only apparent on vehicles that have been driven at high forward velocities.... smile

I posted one ages ago so can`t find it now.

Basically take the fabric panel off using a fork with a prong removed to get behind the plastic discs, use a 10mm socket on the spoiler and take it right off. (dont forget to disconnect the brakelight cable)

Then use kitchen door rubber stoppers, the ones like small losenges and stick them in the hollow part of the centre strut (it has a raised lip running round its edge which is what does the rubbung damage )so it sits slightly off the boot lid.

Then reasemble.

Took me half an hour.

DONT FORGET TO RECONNECT THE BRAKELIGHT (if you dont, that takes about half an hour too

Thanks for the replies. Shame the search box didn't find me that old thread.

Looks like I need to get the spanners out then.

Cheers

Vauxhall have agreed to do mine under warranty. As a good wil gesture.
